Iron and steel have always been major construction

prone to corrosion.
Traditionally , metal have been protected against corrosion with
the help of zinc and cadmium
In terms of corrosion resistance these passivations can be placed
as follows:
1. Green passivation (most protective)
2. Yellow passivation
3. Bleached yellow passivation.
4. Blue passivation. |

When zinc is exposed to atmosphere, it gives sacrificial i.e. Anodic
protection to steel. When the complete zinc is sacrificed, the red rust
starts
It should be clear by now that white rust means failure of passivation and
red rust means steel exposure
Thus , decro & geomate coating fasteners introduced.
Geomate Fasteners
It is the next generation coating which
is dacrotizing but free from hexavalent chrome
